West Virginia: Lithostrotionella fossil coral

7 x 11 x 7.5 cm. 460 g. display piece (polished side). This is a fossil coral which is sometimes, when highly agatized and well-colored, used as a gemstone. It is the official State Gemstone for West Virginia, where this example originated.
