hey, y'all!   Smiley

when working rhodonite cabs, what's the best way to work the material from start to finish? rough grinding to final polish to avoid undercutting? diamond wheels/belts? diamond paste? phenolic? polishing compound?  ??

Work it slow and steady, I haven't had any direct issues with undercutting myself.

I like to do the really rough grinding on a worn 80-ish diamond wheel.
The rest of the shaping is done on a 220-ish diamond wheel.

Then just remove facets with 400, 600, 1200.
Don't need a whole lot of time with the 400 to remove the worst and biggest facets. Then go to 600.

Pre-polish 3K.

But polishing is something I still ponder on.
Tin oxide did a barely acceptable polish.
Haven't tried Cerium ox yet.

Cerium will do the trick, but slowly. Chrome Oxide works best. Linden A also works.
